This app works exactly like the pedal version! Its extremely accurate, and very fast. Perfect for tuning an acoustic guitar. Doesnt work very well in loud environments (like most handheld tuners that are using a built-in mic) but perfoms very well otherwise. Highly reccomended!

To be honest, the Peterson strobosoft is way more accurate, but I find it too finicky for live use. Live is where the polytune shines! Perfect!

This app is head and shoulders the best guitar/bass tuner available for iPhone. Super responsive, tracks quickly and even picks up unamplified electric instruments with ease and accuracy. Tune your instruments quickly! Certainly great advertising for the actual pedal.

Great app, its so handy!!! Works perfectley!!! It makes tuning so much quicker and means you dont have to through any strings that are in tune!!!

Has a tendency to switch between strum and individual strings too easily. It is easily confused by background noise in live situation (for tuning an acoustic guitar with a microphone). But worst of all, it is not very accurate even in one string at a time mode. I can easily hear the string being sharp or flat while this software will show it as perfectly tuned. It sort of "locks-in" when nearing dead center even though Im not touching the adjust key anymore... The strum feature is nice as a novelty but not accurate enough to get your guitar or bass perfectly in tune, so not worth $10. I will continue to use Peterson Strobesoft which is far more precise for the same price.

I use it on ipad. This app performs as good as 100 bucks quality tuner if you want to quickly and accurately tune guitars. If I tune guitar with polytune and then check with the reliable ot120 orchestral tuner it is spot on and so it is if I do it the other way. That means the accuracy is the same or better, about +/-1 cent. For other plucked or hammered instruments polytune often works pretty well, I tried harp and it worked flawlesly across the range (in fact I found it to be a bit more sensitive for low strings than the orchestral tuner that may have problem with the longest quieter strings), dulcimer is also pretty reliable to tune with polytune which is a surprise (for example you will have hard time to tune dulcimer with a strobo tuner or normal guitar tuner). Violin is a bit more problematic when plucking with polytune as the note will jump to wrong one because it seems too quiet for the ipad mic to register. Bowing is ok. The polyphonic tuning for guitars actually works and it is very reliable! It is a bit amazing piece of alghorythm as this was impossible just few years ago. If you need tuner for home and have iphone or ipad, you cant beat the price on this one.

This is the best tuner I have tried and I have tried many. The fact that you can check all strings at once is incredible. But I only gave it a 3 because, for $5, it should give you all tunings, not just standard and a few drops. As soon as it has all of the open tunings as well, I will give this a 6 out of 5.

If youre looking for the fastest and most accurate way to tune, this is it. Once you try this you wont go back. This sells as a pedal for a hundred bucks and its worth every penny. As an app for a buck, its a no brainer.
